We have endeavoured to provide all you need for a relaxing self-catering holiday, including all the essentials to get your break off to a good start.

  • Our wonderful farm for walks, adventure and exploration!

Our fields start within 20 metres of the cottages and will provide many great walks for guests.  Adjoining our land there is a bridle path which heads towards the hills and the village of Bishop Wilton (2 miles away),  nestled into the hillside,  which hosts a fabulous country pub with excellent meals if you prefer a good walk before and after dinner.

Pocklington is a small market town situated just under 4 miles from Bricknell Cottages. As well as plenty of shops to browse Pocklington has a fantastic selection of cafes, restaurants, and traditional Yorkshire pubs.

Lots of wildlife can be seen, including the normal pheasants, hares etc. but we also have deer, foxes, badgers and partridges which have been rarely seen over the last few years and are now making a comeback, owls and kingfishers are regularly seen too. 

For those who enjoy walking, there are some wonderful views over the Yorkshire Wolds and footpaths are plentiful.  The Wolds Way  is a particular favourite which passes through many picturesque villages offering coffee shops along the way.
